DR. SID, D’PRINCE SIZZLE AS NIGERIANS RAISE MONEY FOR HOSPITALS
providing qualitative healthcare to patients in developing countries
around the globe who would otherwise not have access to such services,
held its fund raising dinner at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel and
Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday August 8, 2010.
It was a formal evening, with a formal dinner complemented by a red carpet
and a Deejay. The event was also compered by ace comedian AY. After
opening prayers, guests were invited to take a tour of the venue to see
the art work and jewelry on display, provided by xxxxxxxx. The items were
auctioned to raise funds for the work of the foundation, and many guests
wasted no time making bids.
The founder of the project, Segun Ajayi, led the audience through a slide
show on the journey so far. He spoke on the challenges faced in this
assignment, making sure to credit friends who have shown commitment to the
cause by paying their own air tickets to Nigeria and other parts of the
globe as volunteers for the project. He also called on the entire
59-member volunteer team to stand up to a clapping ovation.
The high point of the night was the entrance of Dr Sid and D’Prince of
Mo’Hits. They got the entire crowd on their feet.
Speaking on what next after the dinner, the founder – Ajayi said “This was
held to appreciate those who have volunteered their time and money to see
that there is a better life for others, we have also used this medium to
garner finance support to aid the furtherance of the project. Our monthly
visit to Haiti will continue until the country is stabilised, we will
continue to venture into new areas as God gives us the grace to and by his
will, the world would be a better place.”
