Boko Haram:Clinton hold talks with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan
US secretary of state, Mrs. Hilary Clinton is expected to hold talks with Nigerian leader, President Goodluck Jonathan today in Abuja. The highly influential US official and her aides are expected in Nigeria on a brief courtesy visit to Jonathan.
Gistmaster News gathered that the two leaders would discuss the issue of security in Nigeria, especially as it relates to islamist group known as Boko Haram.The US had already condemned the menance of the Islamist group in Nigeria.US also named three leaders of the group on their terrorist list.
After the talks, Clinton would be travelling to Ghana, where she would be a guest of President John Mahama.In Ghana,Clinton is expected to convey America’s condolence and pay tribute to former Ghanaian leader, Late Professor Atta Mills.Ghana has already declared three days of mourning starting from yesterday.
As part of her african tour, Mrs Clinton had visited South Africa, Uganda,South Sudan,Malawi,Kenya and Senegal.
