Gunmen kill University of Ado Ekiti lecturer in Maiduguri

A lecturer at the University of Ado Ekiti, Abubakar Salihu has been killed by gunmen suspected to be members of the islamist sect, Boko Haram in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Borno state Commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Yuguda who confirmed the latest killing to journalists said the UNAD lecturer was killed with his friend,Mohammed Salisu the secretary of Bama local government area in the state.

According to police,Salihu came to the state to enroll his 12 year old son in college. He went to visit the secretary of Bama LG and decided that he was going to sleep in the house. Unknown to them, the secretary was already a target of armed men who decided to struck on Monday night. They were both watching television when they were gunned down by the assasins.
