Ogun govt suspends principal for conducting virginity tests

The principal of Ajuwon High School,Iju Ajuwon,Ifo Local Government area has been suspended by the Ogun State ministry of education following reports that she conducted illegal virginity tests on some students.

The commissioner of Education, Science and Technology in the state, Mr. Segun Odubela disclosed to newsmen in a press statement that the Principal,Mrs. Olufunke Oladeojebi has been suspended following preliminary investigation.The commissioner also said that a panel comprising officials of the state teaching commission (TESCOM) and staff of the education  ministry been set up to further investigate the matter and submit their report within 14 days.

Gistmaster broke the news of the principal’s arrest by policemen from Ajuwon Police station following a protest that she carried out illegal virginity test on the students.Some of the SS1 students disclosed that she used her hand durning the ‘test’ and some of them lost their ‘status’ because they started bleeding after afterwards.If you miss the breaking news report, click here
