Imo deputy governor denies contract scam allegation,faces impeachment
The deputy governor of Imo state, Mr Jude Agbaso has described allegations that he received about N458 million as kick backs from a contractor handling a road project as wicked lies,even as he faces impeachment in the state house of assembly.
Impeachment notice has been sent to the Agbaso. However, the deputy governor called on those making allegations that they should they should report the matter to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for proper investigation instead of doing everything possible to chase him out of office.
He said that he met the contractor, Joseph for the first time at the premises of Imo state hotels with the governor of the state,Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Martin Agbaso the elder brother of the embattled deputy governor said Okorocha is not fair in the whole episode.He insisted that it was a ply by the governor to use and dump an Owerri man.
