In a bid to ensure that Warri south constituency 1 is properly represented in the Delta State House of Assembly, in the forthcoming Delta State bye-election, the Warri Diaspora Alliance for Transparent and Effective Governance (WADATEG), has called on all registered voters in the constituency to vote for a credible, accessible and reliable leader, who has the interest of his/her constituency at heart.
In a statement yesterday by WADATEG’s coordinator, Sheyi Mackson Ejejigbe, the group said that the forthcoming election is a launching pad for the developmental aspirations of the masses.
According to Ejejigbe, a vote for credibility not necessarily on the basis of political affiliation is a vote for the emancipation of the poor masses in the constituency.
He appealed to Politicians to shun politics of blackmail and calumny, noting that election is a process that ushers in leaders to lead for a specific period but not the end of political participation.
“The new representative must ensure that all abandoned projects in the constituency are completed in due course. Youths empowerment and capacity building is key to the sustainability of Warri constituency 1, Therefore, leaders must put measures in place to continuously engage youths for them to be useful in the society.
Ejejigbe also said that Funds meant for development should be properly harnessed to boost infrastructure development in the constituency.
“This is the dawn of a new political era in Warri constituency 1. Youths must shun violence and vote wisely” he said.
