ABAKALIKI—EBONYI State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, weekend, won all the chairmanship and councillorship positions during Saturday’s elections across the 13 local government areas and 171 wards in Ebonyi State.
Announcing the results at the headquarters of the state Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC, in Abakaliki, chairman of the commission, Chief Jossy Eze, who described the election as peaceful and credible, added that only seven political parties participated in the election..
He listed the political parties to include ADC, APA, APC, MPPP, PDP, SDP and UPP.
In a chat with newsmen, the chairman-elect for Afikpo South Local Governrment Area, Mr Eni Uduma, described the election as victory for democracy, adding that the development would further guarantee massive development in the rural areas and engender people-oriented local governrment administration in the state.
