National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has pledge to partner with the administration of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State for the development of education in the state.
NANS resolution to partner with the state government was taken at a stakeholders meeting in Awka, the state capital convened at the instance of NANS zone B. A statement signed by zone B deputy coordinator, Comrade Chucks Okafor, explained that the attention Governor Obiano has given education deserves commendation.
“NANS commends his excellency the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano on his achievements in the development of Anambra state with particular reference to the education sector”.
To further ensure the success of the governor, Comrade Okafor noted that student body will partner the state on its programmes and projects in education sector. “NANS will partner with Anambra state government on the lunch of the project tagged ” STEM education for Anambra state” .
The statement added that the programme covers supply of basic STEM education materials and the set up of virtual education laboratories to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics education across the state.
It explained that STEM will enable an average Anambra citizen compete with his contemporaries across Africa and the world in the 21st century. The statement also stated that the state government has embarked on registration of 500 students from less privileged background per LGA in the 21 LGAs for JAMB.
