Residents of Ozuoba community in Rivers State woke up on Monday to face the reality of a cult clash that led to the death of a young man. They said the mayhem, which took place on Sunday night, was a reprisal attack by a rival cult group who claimed that one of their members had been killed by the deceased’s group.
Witnesses said after the assailants allegedly stabbed their victim to death, they went on rampage, as they attacked anyone in sight and burned down at least three houses.
Spokesman for the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident to Channels Television.
Mr omoni said the situation has been brought under control, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects and bring them to book.
