A non governmental organisation (NGO) ANTODEC Foundation, has been formally inaugurated in Nigeria, with a promise to provide free legal services to the less privileged in the society.
The NGO is a humanitarian outlet established to give “voice to the voiceless” by providing free legal services to illegally detained suspects and to improve the healthcare/welfare of oppressed persons in the society.
Speaking at the event, the co-founder of the organisation, Mrs Anthonia Efe Egbujiobi maintained that the vision of Antodec Foundation is to be the voice for illegally detained persons in police custody and those wrongfully detained in prisons.
According to her, hundreds of these victims will be found and offered legal aid to enable them get their freedom while at the same time reintegrating them back into the society.
She said:“In Antodec foundation, our core Values are depicted by the Accronym- VOICE, which stands for value, opportunity, integrity, care and empathy.
“We will ensure that they enroll in skill acquisition programs that can make them relevant in the society
“Our services include pro bono legal services, counseling, welfare and simple case medical treatments. This will cut across all states in Nigeria”. She concluded.
The event was graced by notable personalities from the security, civil society, military and government sector famous among them were Dr Michael Olugbile and Hon. Agbedi Frederick.
