NATIONAL Chairman, Pan Niger Delta People’s Congress, PNDPC, His Majesty, Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu, Lion of the Niger, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to be more down to business by urgently commencing negotiation with the Congress, which has the mandate of the militants and stakeholders on matters concerning the Niger Delta region.
The PNDPC, in a statement, commended Buhari for approving N5 billion for the Nigerian Maritime University, NMU, Okerenkoko, saying: “The Pan-Niger Delta People Congress sees the take-off of the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU, as a bold step by the Muhammadu Buhari -led government. The presidential approval is capable of re-engineering the general peace architecture and development initiative, which in turn will enhance the peace and security in the Niger Delta region.”
Ayemi-Botu said “since August 19 when the leadership of the nine ex-agitator groups, led by the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers, RNDA, gave the PNDPC the mandate to interface with the Federal Government on all issues concerning peace and development in the entire region, the group had consulted with open mind with governmental institutions and stakeholders” and the federal government tom begin negotiation with PNDPC.
While appealing appeal to the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA and the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers, RNDA to still trust and believe in the capacity of the leadership of the PNDPC to be able to resolve all issues of interest and concern to the Niger Delta project,” he said “instructively, it should be noted that the national leader of the PNDPC, Pere Ayemi-Botu, used his wealth of knowledge and experience as a driving force during the formative stage of the Pan Niger Delta People Forum (PANDEF) before it was hijacked by those who currently parade themselves as leaders of the group.”
