The Joint Matriculation and Exam Board (JAMB) has announced a change in the exam date for the 2018 UTME. The examination was earlier scheduled to hold between January 22 and 24. According to the registrar of JAMB,Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the new date for the UTME will now be between March 9 and 17, 2018.

JAMBJAMB registrar spoke during a meeting with stakeholders theme: “Strategic planning on the conduct of the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation,” on Tuesday.

The JAMB Registrar said the examination scheduled to hold between January 22 and 24 was shifted to the new dates due to the ongoing strike by public universities non-teaching staff.

He said, “We are unable to access our CBT centres because most of them are in the universities and non teaching staff are on strike. ”

Oloyede noted that about 10 percent of prospective candidates for this year’s UTME have purchased and registered for the examination, adding that the total number of candidates that have registered was about 283,319.
