NEW SPEAKER TAKES OVER FROM DIMEJI BANKOLE

 A new speaker has been elected for Nigeria’s House of Representatives. The new speaker is Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and he is from Sokoto State. Tambuwal gathered a total votes of 225, while Mulikat Akande- Adeola from PDP Oyo got 90 votes in the race for next speaker of House of Representatives.
 Tambuwal took over from Bankole, the former speaker whose tenure ended with the last political dispensation. Bankole is already in EFCC custody following allegations of mismanagement of public funds.
