How much faith do you have in his word?

By Funmi Komolafe

Brethren, we are in  the second half of the seventh month but we still have about five months before the year 2017 rolls away.

In the name of Jesus, you will outlive this year. No one will pay you condolence visit in  Jesus name.

Events of the last few weeks confirm that our God is still on the throne.  No one can dethrone the King of Kings. Before returning to the testimonies that further assured me about the awesome powers of God, first, let’s   take a  critical look at our Christian life and how others see us.

One may be  called  Christian or Christiana  but  his or her life may not in any way reflect that of a believer in Christ.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is a symbol of humility.  Or how would the King of kings be born in a manger.

Luke 2: 7&8 “ And she (Mary) brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the Inn. And there were  in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night“.

Our Lord Jesus could have been born in the palace after all  Herod was king in a palace.

Are you saying he could have been born in a manger because he came from the lineage of David, the shepherd boy?  Not at all.  Right from his birth to the time he ascended to heaven, our Lord Jesus Christ  symbolized humility.

Today, church members and even some leaders  are so proud  of who they are that they have forgotten that it is the Spirit of God that is at work and not by their own power.

Some church members   in their  pride take the word of knowledge from the altar of God with a pinch of salt.  They simply just don’t believe.

Yet the word of God in 2nd Chronicles 20 vs. 20  the later part of it states, “ Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper”.

Let’s not deceive ourselves here, it is not all prophets that truly depend on the power of God but where you have identified a true man of God, please believe and take what ever action he tells you to take as long as it is in line with the word of God.

As Christians we are familiar with the story of how our Lord Jesus turned water into wine but our emphasis here is on obedience and belief in his word.

John 2 vs. 5 “ His mother saith unto her, Whatsoever  he saith unto you, do it”.

In verse 7 “ Jesus saith unto them, Fill  the water pots  with water. And they filled them up to the brim”.  Note total compliance.

Then what happened . Verses 9 & 10 of the same chapter “ When the ruler of   the feast  had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was : ( but the servants which drew the water knew) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom . And saith  unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth  good wine;  and when  men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine till now”.

What is that challenge that your are going  through?   God is never late.   When you least expected, he will show up and give you the best.

However, many of us have missed our breakthrough because we do not believe that unusual steps directed by God can lead to miracles.

Many have missed it because their scientific mind set  has questioned the rationale for taking certain steps.

When a  true man of God gives a word of knowledge, we are expected to fully comply.

Let’s look at the example of our Lord Jesus and some of his disciples.

Jesus met them as fishermen, Luke 5 vs. 4-7 “ Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, “ Launch out  into the deep , and let down your nets  for a draught. And Simon answering  said unto him, Master, we have toiled  all night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net”.

Note compliance though Simon had his doubts.

Then what happened, verse 6  “ And when they had  this done, they enclosed  a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake”.

In the name of Jesus,  for very  fruitless effort of yours, the Lord will give you an overflow.

Testimony – The testimony  I am about to give is the  basis of   today’s  article. Indeed there are two of them.

Mrs. T. got married in 1998. According to her, she went from one mountain to another, one church to another praying for the fruit of the womb.  At every  point the men of God told her that God revealed that she would carry her own baby.  While doing this, her husband told her, all these men of God who never met one another could not be liars.  So, eat well and dress well.  Note the comments of her husband. In your own case, what are you saying to your wife?  While praying, she continued to seek medical assistance.  This  led her to IVF which she did seven times.  Brethren, you know that in most places in Nigeria, an IVF attempt  could cost a minimum of One Million Naira.   All the seven failed.  I mean not one gave her a baby. So, she found her way to Laughter Foundation Ministry after watching the church’s programme  on television.

According to her, during one of the services, women trusting God for the fruit of the womb were asked to touch the garment.   She did in June and in July 2016; exactly a month after, she conceived.  She delivered the baby girl  in Texas, United States of America.  The baby was  presented for testimony  and dedication  last week.

The baby was the first child of the couple in 19 years of marriage.  This should give you hope .

While giving her testimony, she advised women to be patient and believe their fathers in the Lord.

Twins after four years –  The second testimony is about a couple that  got married in 2013. She was able to conceive but did not carry the babies through.  She had miscarriages twice.  Someone introduced her to the church. She told the congregation that three factors led her to her break through.  The first was a word of knowledge that  “there is someone here, the enemy has been using illness to attack you during your ovulation, the Lord said, and he will put an end to this”.   She said she claimed it with a loud Amen since that has been her condition.

The second, was the use of anointing oil which women on the waiting list her asked to bring and told  how to use it.  She complied fully.

The third was the anointed handkerchief given to women like her in the church.

Her total compliance gave her a breakthrough.  When she came for testimony, she came with a set of twins; two boys who were named Elijah and Elisha.

Need I say more?  Is there anything scientific about what led these women to their breakthrough?  None.

If you truly expect a miracle, keep your faith alive.   The awesome power of God is beyond science.

By the grace of God, because you and the children that God has given you are for signs and wonders,   you too will soon testify.

However, as you keep your faith alive, believe the man of God and fully comply with his instructions.

In the name of Jesus, you will not end this year empty handed.
