INEC Registers 3,500 Voters In Kuje Area Council

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kuje area council has disclosed that it has so far registered 3500 voters in the first quarter of voters registration exercise in the area.

Speaking at the completion of first quarter of the exercise in Kuje at the weekend, the electoral officer of the council, Mr. Zainab Gbefwi, said that the names of registered voters in the area would be displayed this week for identification, verification and correction before cards are printed.

“We have successfully concluded the registration of voters in the first quarter of the exercise with 3,500 voters registered. Names of the registered voters would be displayed next week for them to check their names for possible correction and verification before the cards are issued out,” she said.

Gbefwi further disclosed that second quarter of the exercise for the year will begin on July 31, adding that it will be decentralized in three electoral wards of Kuje central, Rubochi and Kwakwu, to reach rural areas and enable those who missed the last exercise, as well as  those who recently attained the age 18 years.
