The Emir of Kano state, Nigeria, His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi, is presently in the Federal Republic of China on a co-prosperity visit at the instance of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, (CPAFFC) where he intends to woo major Chinese investors to Nigeria to further grow the country’s economy.
The Emir’s visit is targeted at a co-strategic plan with the China’s CPAFFC to attract investors to Kano state.
Emir Sanusi who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Kano State, Alhaji Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, the Seriki Shanun of Kano, Alhaji Shehu Usman Mohammed, Managing Director, Kano State Investment and Properties Ltd., Dr. Jibrilla Mohammed, Alhaji Aminu Ade Bayero and 4 other delegates was received by the Consul General of the Consulate-General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Shakirudeen Adewale Oloko, and Vice President of Guangdong Province, People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Mr. Quyang Jiangxuan.
The Emir visited China to, among other reasons, push for investment drives to Kano state, explore ICT training opportunities for Kano state youths and make for a people- to- people exchanges between Nigeria and China.
To firm up the strategic investment cooperation, the Emir’s delegation would be taken on a tour to visit China’s Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and as well meet with leaders of China-Africa Development Fund, People’s Bank of China, China-Africa Business Council, as well as Vice Chairperson, Chinese People Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Shanghai Committee, H.E, Ms. Zhao Wen. The delegation would also meet the Vice Foreign Minister, H.E Mr. Zhang, Ming, to ensure solidification and or expansion of trade between Nigeria and China.
The Emir and his delegation will also visit Shenzhen (The Silicon Valley of China), Shanghai, and Beijing in an effort at consolidating both the existing and prospective China-Nigeria rising trade relations.
