Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has given out operational vehicles to security agencies in the State worth N300 million.
The vehicles distributed are nine new assorted vehicles and eight fairly used, as well as refurbished 12 vans at the exact cost of N292, 625, 015. 50.
A breakdown of the donation shows that the NDLEA got two new Toyota Hilux vans, state HISBA Command, three new Toyota Hilux vans, NSCDC, two new Toyota Hilux vans, while the State Sports Commission got a new Coaster bus and a new Corolla saloon.
The state road traffic agency, KAROTA, received six fairly used Toyota vans and two fairly used towing vehicles even as the Nigerian Army 3 Brigade Kano had 12 of its vehicles refurbished. This is sequel to 16 brand new vehicles donated to the brigade recently, by the state government.
In his remarks during the handing over of the vehicles, the state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje explained that the state would continue to assist security agencies as part of the government’s commitment towards ensuring sustainable peace and security.
“Kano must be safe for businesses to thrive. People must be secure to conduct their day to day endeavors. Without peace, we cannot sustain the position of Kano as the commercial nerve center of this part of the country if security does not remain a top priority”, he stated.
