ABA—Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association Nigeria, IPMAN, Aba depot, Chief Christian Ahukanna, has urged the Abia State Government to repair the road leading to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation depot at Osisioma Ngwa.
Ahukanna, who made the appeal in Aba, said that the deplorable condition of the road had made it difficult for petroleum marketers to lift products from the depot to other areas of the country.
“The road leading to NNPC Aba depot has been in deplorable condition for some time now. I have cried to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to help us out. He is a listening governor who has embarked on various road rehabilitation projects in Aba and other parts of the state.
“He has promised to do something about the road. At the end of August, the road will be done. The condition of the road has made it difficult for marketers to operate without stress,” he said.
On products supply, the IPMAN chairman commended the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, for the improved products supply to the depot and security of the pipelines from the Port Harcourt Refinery and called on marketers to sell at government approved pump price.
“Products supply to the depot have been very regular. PPMC has done a good job to also secure the pipelines from Port Harcourt to Aba depot and beyond,” he said.
