TWO months after leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State resolved to sheath their swords and work for the unity of the party, fresh crack has hit the party over the sharing of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, projects allocated to the state.
Members of a group, Consolidated Delta APC, convened by a chieftain of the party in the state, Chief Hyacinth Enuha, and President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, Loretta Onochie, are angry over the way the 65 NDDC projects allocated to the state were allegedly hijacked.
Enuwa, in a letter inviting the group members to a meeting at his Ogwashi-Uku residence, had said: “NDDC projects accruable to Delta State have been hijacked by 3 persons”.
The meeting had in attendance Loretta Onochie, Ossai Abe, who represented Chief Great Ogboru, Mr Elvis Ayomanor, Dr Veronica Ogbuagu, Donald Ugbaja and Dennis Mene, among others.
Sources at the meeting said the group resolved to send a petition to the Presidency on the matter.
“We have resolved to meet with the Minister for State Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu, who will lead a delegation of the group to meet with the NDDC Chairman to express our grievance and ensuring that other groups are carried along in the contracts sharing.
“We also resolved that if the meeting with the NDDC Chairman failed to yield the desired result, we will take the next step by petitioning the Presidency over the matter.”
