The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), has instituted an award for the best deserving students in Christian Religious Studies for JSS3 and SS2 classes of Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja.
This was disclosed in a press statement yesterday by the head media of the commission, Celestine Toruka.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev. Uja Tor Uja, the Special Assistant to the NCPC Boss, John Tor Akume thanked the management of the school for providing the platform for the commission to sensitize the students on Christian Pilgrimage.
“We want you to know about Christian Pilgrimage so that you can go to Israel, Greece or Rome,” he said.
He added that with the little explanations the NCPC te
am had presented, it would create a desire in the students to go for Christian Pilgrimage next year and beyond.
Speaking earlier during the sensitisation exercise, the Legal Adviser of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bar. Victoria Ojogbane informed the students on the new paradigm shift of pilgrimage. She enjoined the students to develop interest in embarking on pilgrimage to the Holy land and this could be possible if they were able to convince their parents of their desire to go on pilgrimage rather than going on holidays to Europe and America.
The Head of Mobilization Department of NCPC, Sunny Udeh also added that pilgrimage would enable them to observe what is in Israel in terms of spiritual Biblical endowments.
