Ohanaeze youths reject restructuring

By Chinonso Alozie

Owerri—Ohanaeze Youths Council, OYC, yesterday, rejected calls for the restructuring of the country, saying some politicians, who misma-naged the economy, are using restructuring mantra as a disguise to return to power.

The OYC said these in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Igboayaka Igboayaka, in Owerri, the Imo State capital, while thanking the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, for taking the country to a point where issues are discussed.

According to the release, Nnamdi Kanu has achieved what no man dared to do in the country, through IPOB, which has resulted to the recent call to restructure.

The statement read in part : “Some corrupt leaders are hiding under the restructure mantra  to launch themselves back to political power in Nigeria. The same people, who have crippled the economy and governance, cannot call for  restructure of Nigeria at this point, when Nigerian youths are tired of political crisis after 57 years.

“Nigerian government should discuss with IPOB. OYC has resolved that a true sovereign national conference with the majority of Nigeria tribes and ethnic nationalities  will proffer a lasting solution.”
