Be ye also ready (Pt 1) – Muoka Lazarus

By Muoka Lazarus

Matt 24: 40- 44 says, “Then shall two be in the field;  the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh”.

Any person who wants to achieve success must observe watchfulness in order to escape the peelings of the enemy. So also it is applicable to heavenly race where it is expected that alertness must be the stock in trade of everyone striving to make heaven because the Bible has stated that the hour and the time the trumpet shall sound for rapture is not known. So in our preparedness for the kingdom of God the Bible admonishes us to be ready at all times to enable us qualify for the Kingdom of heaven and reign with Christ at the end of this life.

*Pastor LAZARUS MUOKA

The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to rapture the saints, the believers, those whose names are in the book of life is at hand, hence, every child of God and every person who wishes  to be in heaven at the end of this life is not expected to joke with his life.  No one should be careless of this gift of eternal life at any point in time, and none should sleep or slumber. We all are expected to be spiritually awake so as not to give the devil the chance to sow evil seeds or tares in our souls because if this is allowed it could endanger our chances of making heaven at last.

Watching for Christ’s coming is to maintain that righteous state of mind which we wish our Lord should meet us with when He comes. We know we have but a little time to live and after it judgment and nobody knows the time fixed for the judgment. Our Lord will be happy for those who He shall found ready for the Kingdom when He shall come, but will be very angry against those that are not ready. If a man is professing to be a believer who wants to make heaven at least and he is covetous, ambitious, or a lover of pleasure which works against man’s readiness, that person will be disqualified.

Those who choose the world for their portion in this life will have hell for their portion in the other life. My prayer is that when our Lord shall come, He shall found us blessed, and fit to be partakers of His inheritance.

Matt. 24:36-39 says, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”

In the context above, our Saviour asserts that the world’s final dissolution on the last day would be much like the ending of the old world. People will be at their rendezvous and be engaged with the things of this world, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage like the people of the old world when the end shall come.

The people of the old world were wholly given to sensuality and debauchery, thus, didn’t know of the floods coming until the flood swept them away. So as it was in the days of Noah, our Lord Jesus avers that so shall it be when the Son of man cometh. The reason why sinners immerse themselves into sin is because they do not believe the certainty, or consider the nearness, of an approaching judgment. It was surprising that the old world claimed they were not warned of the flood’s coming when the Bible confirms that Noah had warned them of it an hundred and twenty years before it happened.

The fact is that they did not consider it and prepare for it. To those that are not prepared for His coming or inapprehensive of their death and judgment, they must realize that their unpreparedness will not excuse them from the calamity that will eventually befall them. But to such that are prepared, death is never sudden. Watchfulness and readiness is a great duty that lies upon all those who believe and look for Christ’s coming and appearance

Matt. 13:24-25 says, “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way”.  As a believer you must  not be found wanting in any area of your life as you march towards heaven because if you are awake in righteousness it would be difficult for the enemy to infiltrate into your life to deceive you, hence your spirit, soul and body must  be awake at all times.

Everyone who wants to be in heaven must be conscious of his/her lifestyles. He must ensure holiness for we know that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming for the righteous, the church devoid of spots and or wrinkles. He is not coming again for sinners, backsliders but to take the saints away to heaven to be with Him. So, if you are a Christian, you must ensure at every point in time that you maintain purity and righteousness so that on that day when the trumpet sounds you will make it.

Eph. 5:27 says, “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish”

Jesus Christ is coming for the sanctified believers and for no reason should any believer compromise his/her faith or dwell in any kind of unrighteousness. There are series of evil activities being carried out by people who present themselves as believers which annulled their readiness.  However, I implore you not to join them in these evils for surely the Lord Jesus Christ is coming only for the sanctified church. Believers must be ready for the Lord will come like a thief at a time they least expected. This injunction should serve as a guiding principle for the heavenly race of every believer.

So, in our preparation for the rapture, we must be ready at all times. Any form of unrighteousness traced to our life will certainly hinder us from making the rapture.
