IMMEDIATE past Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, in Delta State, Sir Constantine Ikpokpo, yesterday, decried the poor state of Asaba International Airport, calling on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to revoke the airport contract.
Ikpokpo, who is also the immediate past Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, berated the contractor, saying after so much monies have been released by the state government, the project in still incomplete.
While lamenting that the airport cannot host big aircraft, he decried a situation where Deltans would have to travel to either Benin, Edo State, or Owerri in Imo State, to catch Abuja flights.
He also said the contractor had not done much on the Sector ‘C’ of the Ughelli-Asaba Road project awarded to it over eight years ago.
