SPEAKER of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed optimism that the 2018 Appropriation Bill would be signed into law early by the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Oborevwori, who stated this while welcoming members of the House from their two weeks break, reiterated the commitment of the House to the defence of the 2018 Appropriation Budget estimate.
The House had on October 31, 2017, proceeded on a two-week break to enable its members attend to their Committee work on the year 2018 Budget Estimate defence.
Commending members of the House for their commitment to the defence of the budget, the Speaker said: “I am highly impressed with the efficiency and team spirit members of the various House committees worked with the various MDAs in the course of the budget defence.
“There is no doubt about it, the budget will be signed into law early by the governor as a result of your dedication and commitment. Thank you for a job well done.
“Delta State House of Assembly is very vibrant and we will continue to be so. We cannot afford to disappoint Deltans. The cordial working relationship between the Legislature and Executive will continue to wax stronger. Once again, you are welcome back from the two weeks break.”
