It was indeed a night of glitz and glamour at the ToastMasters’ Christmas party which was held at the Export House in Abuja, last Saturday, the 9th of December.

The event featured extraordinary performances from talented ToastMasters. The highlights of the show were the Table Topics Competition, the Humorous Speech Competition, the giving of awards, the cutting of the ToastMasters’ cake, the raffle draw, and live musical performance. ToastMasters and guests were also treated to a diversity of delectable foods and drinks. The show was put together by Division E of the ToastMasters International which comprises the Emerald Club, the Topaz Club, the Aso Rock Stars, the Unity Club, the Jabi Lakeside Club and the Grand City Club.

The show which was tagged ‘A Night to Toast’, also saw             ToastMasters and guests toasting to a greater and more productive 2018. Mrs. Sonye Allanah, the Divisional Director, expressed deep satisfaction with the level of success recorded in the year 2017, and hoped for a more rewarding 2018. She further commended the ToastMasters for doing their best to keep the flag flying.

Mrs. Titi Ojo, the immediate past Division Director, told pressmen that next year would see the ToastMasters accomplishing more and taking several giant strides. She expressed satisfaction with the success of the show, and commended all those who worked to make it a success. She further said that the biggest agenda that the ToastMasters International was set to achieve in the coming year is the ‘Project Nigeria,’ which according to her, is aimed at spreading the gospel of the ToastMasters to all nooks and crannies of Nigeria, since the club has only been able to extend its presence to only a few states.

Mrs. Stella George who chaired the organizing committee, was also very excited about the success of the show, and said that it took a lot of preparations and a whole rollercoaster ride to arrive at the huge razzmatazz of the successful event. She expressed great optimism over the coming year, and said she looked forward to a more rewarding 2018.

Awards were given to the winners of both the Table Topics and Humorous Speech Contests, and the raffle draw recorded different winners who got assorted wonderful prizes. The huge cake was cut, and a toast was proposed by Mrs. Titi Ojo, to the great successes of the club.
