Despite the proclamations of unity by leaders of the APC in Delta State, the conspicuous absence of one of the state’s enduring opposition leaders has continued to raise issues among some stakeholders.
APC leaders in the state including Prophet Jones Erue, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Chief Otega Emerhor, Hon. Temi Harriman among many others, have in recent weeks been known to sit together plotting common strategy against the ruling PDP. But one question that has aggravated many is on the whereabouts of Chief Great Ogboru, the serial candidate of the opposition since 2003.
Indeed, the absence of Chief Great Ogboru in the campaign train of the party is fuelling speculations that all is not well with the party which had lately been boasting that the various stakeholders had put aside their differences to unite against the PDP and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
To douse speculations of a return to strife, Erue during a campaign stop at Sapele told the crowd that Chief Ogboru was unable to attend the rally owing to an official engagement at Abuja.
He promised that Great famed as “The People’s General” would be joining the campaign train in subsequent outings.
